40th Annual Paul Keres Memorial Chess Tournament

A 6 round FIDE and CFC rated Swiss

 

May 16th-18th, 2015

 

$4000 in prizes estimated

 

When: Saturday May 16th- Monday May 18th (Victoria Day)

 

Where: Executive Airport Plaza Hotel, 7311 Westminster Hwy, Richmond, BC, V6X 

 

Sections: Premier Section (FIDE rated), U2000 Section U1600 Section.

Top BC player qualifies for the BC Closed (subject to policies and TD approval)

 

Prizes: $4000 Estimated Prize Fund - Based on 90 entries

GMs, IMs, WGMs free if preregistered on or before May 11th, otherwise EF deducted from prize, if any. 
Family Discount: 2nd or higher member of family. Eg. a father in the U2000 section ($90) + a son in the U1600 Section $35, (normally $55).

For non cash prizes (cheques), 1st tiebreak is individual cumulative score. 2nd tiebreak is cumulative score of opponents. 

 

*BCCF Annual General Meeting held between rounds at 3:00pm on Sunday

Otherwise, players must be within 200 points of a section to play above their rating. A $20 dollar fee for players playing up a section. eg. an 1850 CFC player participating in the Premier Section.
